Acceptable Use

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. “Service” means the self-serve product, Studio work, Superintelligence, hosted video, Widgets & Plugins, and the Marketplace. A breach of this policy is a breach of the Terms. For any use of Superintelligence, the xAI Acceptable Use Policy also applies, as section 7B of the Terms says.

1. Illegal activity

You may not use the Service for fraud, phishing, malware, scams, trafficking, illegal drugs, illegal weapons, threats, doxxing, harassment, or any other violation of the law of Florida, of the United States, or of the place where the site is aimed.

Child sexual abuse material is forbidden. We remove it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

You may not use the Service to give material support to a designated terrorist organization or to solicit a violent crime.

2. Sanctions and age

You may not use the Service if you are under 18, or if you are located in, or act for a person in, a country or on a list subject to U.S. sanctions or export restrictions. You may not use the Service to evade sanctions or export controls.

3. Sexual content and minors

You may not use the Service for pornography or sexually explicit content, prostitution, escorts, or sexually oriented dating or live-chat services. Any content that sexualizes a minor is forbidden. You may not publish an intimate image of a real person without that person’s consent.

4. Superintelligence and generated media

You may not use Superintelligence or its output to: (a) create any content forbidden by sections 1 to 3; (b) impersonate a real person, or make realistic images, video, or audio of a real person that could deceive others, without that person’s consent; (c) mislead people about elections or voting; (d) present output as made by a person where that would mislead others; (e) develop, train, or improve any AI model; or (f) give medical, legal, or financial advice, or make decisions about people’s housing, credit, employment, insurance, or education, without a qualified human review. You may not remove watermarks or provenance data from generated media. Where you publish output, you should label it “Created with Grok” or “Written with Grok.”

5. Abuse of the Service

You may not scrape, probe, overload, or attack the Service, or try to get around its limits. You may not send spam or contact people who did not consent. You may not upload what you do not have the rights to upload. You may not resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service. Form submissions and account data must be true.

6. Enforcement and reports

We apply this policy to conduct, the same way for every account. We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, where we reasonably believe this policy was broken, or where our model provider requires it. We may act without notice where the use is illegal or fits section 1 or 3. To report content that breaks this policy, use the contact page. If one sentence of this policy is invalid, the rest still applies.

7. Law

The law section of the Terms of Service applies to this policy.
